The 2024 SEC Championship Game is between Georgia and Texas in Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, following Week 14 of college football.

Georgia already clinched its spot in the SEC Championship and won an eight-overtime thriller Friday night over Georgia Tech to finish 10-2. Meanwhile, Texas won a much hyped rivalry game played for the first time since 2011 against Texas A&M.

But now, it's down to two teams for all the marbles in the SEC Championship and a first round bye in the College Football Playoff.

A lot went into Georgia making the SEC Championship Game with a bang. Sure, they clinched a spot in Atlanta, but didn't want to limp into the game with three losses and losing to rival Georgia Tech.

Eventually, the Bulldogs outlasted the Yellow Jackets in eight overtimes.

Texas will enter as the home team after finishing the 2024 season with an 11-1 record, the No. 1 team in the SEC.

Georgia concluded their regular season campaign with a 10-2 record, the No. 2 team in the conference standings, finishing the year on a three-game win streak.

The Longhorns are heading into the SEC title game as a 2.5-point favorite, per ESPN BET. ESPN's Matchup Predictor gives Texas a 61.5% chance to win.

Despite having previously lost to the Bulldogs 30-15 in Week 8, the betting lines are favoring the Longhorn program that has beaten three ranked teams and are currently riding a five-game win streak.
